Invergordon Shore Excursion Loch Ness, Distillery and Castles 4th August

Visit the highlands of Scotland on a shore excursion from Invergordon. We begin with a drive to Cawdor Castle. Dating back to the 14th century, the castle impresses with its fairytale architecture and gardens and is famously linked to Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”. We continue on to Loch Ness, the residence of the mythical (or not?) Loch Ness Monster. Keep an eye out for Nessie as we stop for photos of the famous and beautiful Loch. We also visit a local Whiskey Distillery for a complementary tasting.

This is a Full Day Tour.

Includes commentary, photo stops, and time for refreshments. Includes Whiskey Tasting. Entrance to Cawdor Castle not included. Food and Drink and Gratuities not Included.

Kirkwall 5th August

Delve into the past on our guided tour of Kirkwall. Our guide will lead you through The Broch of Gurness, a drystone building dating back to around 200BC, and tell what has been learned of this ancient structure and its old inhabitants since its unearthing in 1929. We then head to the centre of Orkney to view the stunning Ring of Brodgar, a landmark dating back to the early Bronze Age. Your guide will discuss possible theories about these ancient standing stones, and those like them across Britain. Were they a prehistoric meeting place, a method of mapping the heavens, or something stranger still?

This is a Half Day Tour

Includes commentary, photo stops, and time for refreshments.

Stornoway – Isle of Lewis 6th August

Visit the Isle of Lewis on this half day tour. We start with a drive to the northern tip of the Isle, and visit the charming Port Ness, home to the highest percentage of Gaelic speakers in the country. Admire the local art themed around the Port's seafarers before we continue to St Moluag Church. Explore the historic t-shaped building, once a pilgrimage destination for those seeking healing. We then drive to the Butt of Lewis, a red brick lighthouse built in 1862 by the Stevenson brothers. Take in marvellous views of the sea and the lighthouses exterior, and be sure to take photos before we return to Stornoway.

This is a Half Day Tour.

Includes commentary, photo stops, and time for refreshments. Food and Drink not included.

Glasgow 7th August

Explore Scotland with us, starting with Stirling Castle. Sat atop a crag above the river Forth, this historic castle was home to generations of Scottish monarchs, including Mary Queen of Scots. Take a moment to wander the castle grounds, and be sure to take photos! From there we proceed to Aberfoyle Visit Scotland centre, and stop at the village for lunch. Once you've had time to explore, it's off to the famous Loch Lomond, granting you a fantastic photo opportunity at one of Scotland's largest lochs.
